Maui Beaches on Napili Bay

bact to activities

If you can't wait to feel soft, sun-warmed sand between your toes, then Maui - with 30 miles of beaches - is the place for you! The island's beaches range from small coves to vast stretches, with sand colored white, black, or more exotic shades like red or green. Some Maui beach areas have been developed into lovely beach parks with public facilities for beachgoers and picnickers, others are remote and pristine. There are no private beaches on Maui. All beaches are open to the public.

Maui's beaches offer something for everyone, from the lie-on-the-beach-under-a-palm-tree type to the active adventurer. Each beach has its own character, depending upon the prevailing wind and surf conditions. Some are world-famous for surfing or windsurfing, some are ideal for snorkeling and swimming, and others are well suited for families with children.

The Mauian is situated on Napili Bay, a beautiful crescent-shaped Maui beach with soft, white sand. The bay is protected by an offshore reef, generally providing calm waters. Coral formations make for great snorkeling, and on days with a mild swell it's time to bring out the boogie boards.

No discussion of Maui beaches is complete, however, without a word of caution. Always exercise good judgment at the beach. Winds and currents can be powerful, and they can change unexpectedly. Heed all warning signs when visiting Maui's beaches. And don't forget the sunscreen. Maui's tropical sun can burn you fast, even on a cloudy day.
